On 22 of February 2022 the foundation stone of the quarters of Domestic Staff was laid by Very Rev. Fr. Younas Shahzad OP Prior Vice Provincial Ibn-e-Mariam Vice Province Pakistan. The Prior of St. Dominica Priory Bahawalpur welcomed all the distinguish guests. He said that it is a special honor and pleasure to have Fr. Younas Shahzad OP (Prior Vice Provincial) with us on this special occasion. He thanked him and said that this is a great opportunity to acknowledge your vital support and consistent encouragement to move further for the development of the community. While expressing his words of expression he congratulated and said it is also honored for the domestic staff that through their fraternal prayers we are able to start the construction of the three houses for our domestic staff. He also extended his gratitude to his predecessor Fr. Maris Javed OP who had concerned to build new rooms for the co-workers.
At this historical occasion fr. Iftikhar Moon OP, Parish Priest of St. Dominic Church Bahawalpur, Deacon Bashir Francis OP, Hostel Incharge, fr. Yasir Paul OP, Principal of St. Dominic School, and Vice Principal Fr. Pervaiz Simon OP, and Bro. Arish Maqbool were also present.
In his views very Rev. Fr. Younas Shahzad said that I congratulate the whole community assigned at St. Dominic Prior Bahawalpur and Fr. Maris Javed OP for their honest efforts to build three room for our domestic workers. Indeed, they are our friends, workers, above all brothers and sisters in Christ. He encouraged the prior and the community to take full interest during its construction.
