Education

Education occupies a central place in human development. That is why the Church has been a pioneer in establishing schools, colleges, hostels, technical institutes and so on the world over and especially in Pakistan. Dominicans are part of the Mother Catholic Church and being the inevitable part of the Church, are working whole heartedly in the field of Education. For instance, in Pakistan, the Dominican missionaries open their schools to all children whereas in traditional education system of Pakistan, not all and only those of the so-called upper castes were permitted to learn. At present we have priory schools, high schools and colleges for the boys and girls. The result of the hard work of the missionaries and our local friars is very much visible. Today, we have many educated people those who are offering their services for the whole humanity at national and international level.

We recommend that in our schools and institutions top priority be given to quality education and character building in order to enlighten the minds for building up a healthy and humane society.
